2004/05/10 10:40:00 - BSOD at Cambridge Station, Picture
Last week I mentioned that I'd seen a BSOD at Cambridge Station. Having gone back to work now, where my card reader is I can now show you the photographic evidence. Unfortunately it's not clear enough to read the mystic BSOD runes...

Also, I'm left wondering how a train Arrives from Stansted Airport via Peterborough.... (At Cambridge, which is between the two locations).

I got an "Illegal Program Execution in C++ template library" on an ATM the other day. It still worked, though. The dialog box got in a way a bit, but it gave me the money fine, :). I guess there's a risk that eleet hackers have broken into it, but I think it more likely that their software is just crap.

In my experience the sploshier ATMs (Barfley's in particular) tend to be less reliable.

Personally I avoid the ones displaying error dialogs in case their software is so crap (or has got itself sufficiently confused) that it swallows my card or fails to dispense cash :-/

I got an error from one this mornign of the form "err, sorry, I'm feeling crap today so I couldn't complete your transaction" so I went and was awkward inside the bank who showed me that my account had been re-credited with the money.

Fortunately, there was a considerable queue in front of me to help reduce the risk a bit, :).
